Rotary Club packs summer school food bags for Ozark Care to Learn

We are so thankful to the many wonderful people and organizations that partner with Ozark Care to Learn. One group that has continued to pull through for us is the Ozark Rotary Club.

The Rotary Club packed 180 bags of food to get our students through four weekends around summer school during the month of June and have agreed to assist us in feeding families in the month of July, when there is no school available in Ozark.

We can't ever say it enough, but we'll say it once more --- thank you, Rotary Club, for all that you do for Ozark Care to Learn.

If you or your organization would like to get involved with Ozark Care to Learn, please check out our "How You Can Help" page or contact Joey Mills to discuss opportunities to volunteer.

Changes to accepted donations

Due to changes within the program and space constraints, Ozark Care to Learn is no longer accepting recycling donations (chip bags, cereal bags & liners, etc).

In addition, we are limiting our accepted new and gently used clothing donations to the following:
--Shoes, sizes 3T to Adult 12
--Socks (new only, in sizes to fit 10 - 12 year old students)
--Underwear (new only, in sizes to fit 10 - 12 year old students)
--Bras (new only, in sizes to fit 10 - 12 year old students)
--Shorts and pants, sizes Youth M to Youth XXL
--Short-sleeved shirts, long-sleeved shirts, and hoodies (sizes Youth M to Youth XXL)
--Coats, sizes 3T to Adult XXL
--Hats and gloves (new only)

Thank you to everyone for the support you have provided (and the items you have sent us) over the years. You can find more ideas on ways you can help Ozark Care to Learn on our "How You Can Help" page.

Sertoma Duck Race Volunteer Opportunities

The Sertoma Duck Race is one of our larger events and fundraisers. It takes a combined effort from a lot of people (and a little help from Mother Nature) to make this event a success. This year's Duck Race will be held on Friday, June 26th and Saturday, June 27th. We have volunteer opportunities available HERE.

Please consider signing up for a volunteer shift!

You can also find a brochure with a handy tear-off shopping list to help you remember to pick up those items the next time you're out shopping.

New Covenant Academy donates time and treasure

On Monday, March 2, around 80 New Covenant Academy 7th & 8th graders and staff held a volunteer work day at the main Care to Learn storeroom at Ozark Upper Elementary. Students assisted in a wide range of services, including checking food expiration dates, inventorying clothing, and helping us prepare for the Penguins & Princesses event on Saturday, March 28 and the Sertoma Duck Race on June 26 & 27.

In addition to more than 80 hours of volunteer work, the students generously donated more than $170 in cash to help support the program. That is enough to send a backpack of food, health, and hygiene products home with one student every weekend for an entire semester.

Thank you to the New Covenant Academy students and faculty for all you do to help make Care to Learn a success!

North Elementary collects over 800 lbs of food for Care to Learn

A big thank you goes to the students and staff at Ozark North Elementary for collecting more than 800 pounds of food for Care to Learn. In the contest between the grade levels, the first graders took first place, donating more than twice the amount of food as the runners up.

The total was given and winning grade announced at the North Watch D.O.G.S. chili cook off, which raised an additional $155 for Care to Learn.

Thank you for all that you do for Care to Learn at Ozark North Elementary!

Regular volunteer opportunities for the rest of the 2014-15 school year

Ozark Care to Learn has posted our regular volunteer shift needs at the main district-wide storeroom at Ozark Upper Elementary for remainder of the 20014-15 school year. You can find these needs on the calendar our VOLUNTEERS page.

We have divided our main needs into two shifts on Mondays and Tuesdays and one shift on Fridays. The AM shift on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays is from 8:30-11:00. The PM shift on Mondays and Tuesdays is from 11:30-2:00. THESE TIMES ARE NEGOTIABLE! If you, your business, or your organization can send a few people our way for a few hours, we will do our best to accommodate your group anytime during regular school hours.

If you, your business, or your organization would like to find out more about how you can volunteer to help out, or if you would like to sign up for a recurring shift (maybe every Monday AM, maybe every other Tuesday PM, maybe the first Friday of the month... whatever works for your group), please contact Joey Mills at to learn more or to reserve your spot today!
