Inventory volunteers will be provided with a list of items to count and record on-hand amounts. The physical requirements include being able to walk throughout the warehouse, move items to and from shelves, and the ability to work with little or no supervision.

Inventories must be conducted between the end of regular packing (on Thursdays, generally no later than 9:15 or 9:30 a.m.) for the week and submitted by 3:00 p.m. on the Fridays listed below:

Friday, Sept. 2
Friday, Sept. 30

Friday, Jan. 20
Friday, Feb. 17
Friday, Mar. 24
Friday, Apr. 21
Wednesday, May 17 *(See below)

*Please note: based on the school calendar, there are a couple of dates where we will need to pack backpacks for distribution early in the morning, then do an inventory and submit it that afternoon. These two dates are Tuesday, Nov. 22 (no school Wednesday, Nov. 23 - Friday, Nov. 25 due to Thanksgiving Break) and Wednesday, May 17 (the last regular backpacks of the 2016-17 school year).

Depending on the number of volunteers, inventory should generally take no more than an hour or two to complete. If you or your group/organization are willing to provide inventory volunteers on one or more of the dates listed above, please contact either Joey Mills at joey.lynn.mills@gmail.com or by phone at (417)872-7401 or Michelle Lindsey at MichelleLindsey@mail.ozark.k12.mo.us.

Updated Statistics Through 2015 Shows Program's Reach

Since the Care to Learn chapter was started in Ozark in 2009, the program has grown and evolved in order to best meet the emergent health, hunger, and hygiene needs of our students. To understand the scope of the issue in Ozark and to better grasp what Care to Learn means to our students, it helps to pause and take a look at the numbers. Between 2009 and the end of 2015, Ozark Care to Learn has packed and provided nearly 46,000 backpacks to students on a weekly basis. In addition to the food that goes home every week, the program has provided:

-Nearly 8,500 hygiene kits
-More than 3,000 articles of clothing and pairs of shoes
-More than 1,700 containers of laundry soap
-13 beds and bedding
-Nearly 2,500 summer school breakfasts and lunches (since 2013)
-Provided 285 packs of food in our inaugural summer feeding program in July 2015
-An additional 320 "other" items, ranging from all sorts of soft and hard goods like microwaves, ovens, and the like

All told, Ozark Care to Learn has totaled more than 62,000 "impressions" in its seven year existence. We couldn't do it without the tireless work of our volunteers and the generous support of the community. Thank you for your continued support of Care to Learn!
